Know your College Logo. COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING.
I had to reblog this.
For once in a while, I need something to remind me of my ‘why’.
I’ve been seeing a lot of new students in school since the start of the week. Perhaps, they’re having the Lasallian Personal Effectiveness Program (LPEP) of the centennial batch, their batch. Yeah, probably.
It reminds me of my own LPEP days back in 2007 and that feeling of I-don’t-know-where-to-begin. Hmm… let me write these down in bulleted form.
• The first encounter: I was walking and trying to find this “Central Plaza”, with my Enrollment Assessment Form (EAF) in my hand, without knowing which block I belong to. I had to ask someone else and it turned out that the information I was looking for was already indicated on that piece of paper I was holding during the entire time I spent struggling.
“Block EK”
• “So, this block has only 5…6..7, 8 girls including me.” I said to myself.
I was hoping for an increase in number and ended, somehow, disappointed. After all, I should not be surprised since I took an Engineering course. What else should be expected then?
• I was trying so hard to remember all their faces. But, the over-exertion of effort led me to seeing blurred images instead. My mind was not in good shape to keep up with the facts laid before me.
• But, there was one thing I was sure of – that the sound of LRT made me cringe all day long.
• Oh, the foods were great. Not to mention, it was also my first time to do CLAYGO.
• Inheriting 6-decade rosary officially marked me as a Lasallian. (Err… where did I actually place that?)
• We were given the opportunity to take a rest inside an air-conditioned room at Velasco building during our campus tour. I guess, it was our time to get familiar with the place, our second home.
• I remembered only 3 or 4 names at the end of the day.
• On the second day, there were, as far as I can recall, three of my high school batch mates who were surprised to see me in DLSU. Little did they know, I was more baffled at my stay there than they were after noticing me.
• We took our first block photo together with the two ambassadors assigned to us. Our theme was formal so we – well, the majority of us - wore long-sleeved shirts and slacks.
• My mind was wandering somewhere else. Still adapting to the changes.
• I just came back to reality when we were introduced to different organizations who gave us freebies as we passed through them while in line like what high school students usually do. It was fun. ECES, our official course org, gave us a ruler and stickers. (That ruler came in handy during my GRAPONE, Engineering Graphing 1, class)
• The performance of LSDC gave me the chill.
• I did not eat the last food they gave to us.
• Came home dead tired with one thing in my mind: Isn’t it too soon?
Well, the rest is history.
…the clock starts ticking.
Meet 8-bit Carry Look-Ahead Adder
Too bad it cannot be implemented through the use of Spartan-3E Starter Kit that our school can only provide. So…we have to scratch this one out and start our project all over again. And maybe.. do something a little bit more complicated than this. =p
TRANSIG - Transmission of Signals
Whew. I thought I won’t be able to get a slot in this class. Still hoping for other petitioned classes to get approved though.
